Workday, the new home of our Finance and People and Culture systems, is now live. Below, please find details on how to get started, important dates and deadlines, and how to access training and support.
Key Dates and Deadlines
- Jan. 8: Deadline to enter time (absences and/or time worked, if applicable) for Dec. 28 to Jan. 10 pay period.
- Jan. 17: First payslip in Workday for biweekly employees.
- Jan. 15: Deadline to enter absences (sick, leave, etc.) for Jan. 1 to Jan. 31 pay period.*
- Jan. 31: First payslip in Workday for faculty.
*Unplanned absences (sick time) after Jan. 15 must be submitted by Jan. 31.
Absence reporting (sick time, vacation, leaves, etc.)
All absences should be reported through Workday, using ‘Request Absence’ under the Absence application. Refer to the deadlines above for your first pay period in Workday. Going forward, all employees will be required to submit any absences (sick, vacation, etc.) no later than the end of the pay period.
Staff will no longer call into the Switchboard or contact the Facilities Dept. to report absences. Faculty and instructors will continue to contact the Facilities Dept. if their absence results in a class cancellation.
Training and Support
There are a variety of ways for you to learn how to use Workday. Explore the Workday Training site, where you will find how-to guides on key actions, such as requesting an absence. We also have online and in-person training options, info booths, and a drop-in learning lab.
To access Workday support for help with an issue you are experiencing, submit a support request.
Thank you to our project team members, who have worked so hard to bring Workday to Langara. On behalf of the entire Workday@Langara team, welcome to Workday!
